Mrs. Terence Treadwell of Sherman Oaks, California is just about the happiest little wife around. And that's a large statement in a world where there are so many marriages breaking up because the wwife and husband both have careers . . . or where a qife makes more money than a husband . . . or for many lesser reason.
Marta, who is 20, comes from an orphanage in Norway. A Michigan family adopted her and gave her love and understanding. They also encouraged her love of performing. Actually she was discovered on a visit to Los Angeles by a producer while she was eating a hamburger -- somewhat like Lana Turner who was discovered in a drug store!
Marta loves working in "Lost in Space" with June Lockhart, Guy Williams, Jonathan Harris, and the others. And she's happy so many viewers like the program. "It's a wonderful experience," she smiles shyly. The Treadwells both know that there are dangers in marriages where the wife works and the husband goes to school. But Marta points out "Look at all the marriages that have been wonderfully successful where fellows finished their army service and came home to go to college on G.I. bills and their wives worked. We all have a common goal . . . and we know it's all for our future good. Actually I think it draws a couple even closer together, come to think of it."
